Mount Aragats is situated in Aragatsotn region – in the ‘Garden of Armenia’, which is know not only for its ancient monasteries but also for its marvelous nature: mountainous areas surrounded by extensive plateau and luxuriant Alpine vegetation. Here meadows are covered with colorful and aromatic flowers, such as violet, lilies, tulips, bluebells, and the ‘Alpine carpets’ are typical to the high mountainous snow-covered areas. Mount Aragats with its magic nature has always been the symbol of beauty and the source of inspiration for many Armenian writers and artists. This massif of four summits attracts one’s attention by its solemn view and stunning panorama.  One of the mighty volcanoes of the past now has four summits (North Summit – 4090 m, West Summit 4080 m, East Summit – 3916 m, and South Summit - 3879 m) , but the most favorite one for mountaineers is the North Summit. Mount Aragats is famous for its springs and lakes. Not far from the Northern peak is one of the natural miracles of Armenia – Lake Kari. There is also a crater of 350 meters depth which is a big basin of water.

The route of the present tour includes also some of the sightseeing destinations, worth visiting by all means, namely, on the way to Lake Kari the guests visit Saghmosavank – a 12-th century Armenian monastery near the deep gorge of Qasagh River, the excellent location of which provides additional beauty and comeliness to the monastery. Next visit is the Monument of Armenian Alphabet, 39  tracer letters of the Armenian Alphabet, built in 2005 in honor of the creator of the Armenian Alphabet – Mesrop Mashtots, as well as Amberd Fortress, of the few preserved feudal castles in Armenia today. The castle walls of Amberd are made of large blocks of basalts. The style is very severe, without ornaments and decorations.

Apart from all the mentioned-above, the guests will also have great opportunity to explore Yerevan – the 13th capital of the Armenian land, and have a nice farewell dinner in a traditional Armenian restaurant!
